The Pillar of Gratitude

The key to gratitude is not simply believing that you’re grateful. Like all the other pillars, in order to get all the wonderful life-changing benefits of gratitude, the practice has to be active and mindful.

Gratitude has been shown to not only improve brain health, but also mental and physical health. When we express gratitude, and receive it, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin, the two crucial neurotransmitters central to our emotions

It’s connected to purpose, happiness, and even longevity. It can strengthen the immune system, reduce blood pressure, and help with sleep.

And in work and life it’s connected to better relationships, greater performance and productivity at work, in building self-confidence and resilience, and in increasing leadership skills.
